Mineplex is a US Minecraft - multiplayer network that Gregory Bylos (also known as "Sterling_") and "Spu_" was founded on January 24, 2013. Co-owner is currently Caleb Applegate. The network is, along with three others ( Lifeboat , CubeCraft and InPvP ), an official partner of Mojang Studios , the developer of Minecraft .

In the peak phase of the server there were about 10,000 players at the same time at any time of the day.

The main feature of the server are its mini-games and specially adapted and heavily modified multiplayer maps with different challenges. To finance the server and its development, Mineplex sells cosmetics and special in-game skills to players.

history

Founded on January 24, 2013, Mineplex is one of the oldest Minecraft servers in the world that still exist. As of mid-2016, Mineplex had millions of unique player logins per month and approximately 10,000 concurrent players at any time of the day. In 2016, the Dallas Mavericks teamed up with Mineplex to create Dallas Mavericks World , a mini-game for the server. According to a press release from the team, players can take part in construction competitions and play basketball in a mini-game in a faithful replica of the American Airlines Center . The mini-game was released on the server in the summer of 2016. In the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2016 , Mineplex was named the most popular Minecraft multiplayer network because it broke a record with the most concurrently logged on players on January 28, 2015 with 34,434 players. That record was broken by Hypixel that same year . Mineplex's popularity has steadily decreased since 2016 and currently averages 3,000 concurrent players.
