The Minerva Rocks are a small group of cliff rocks in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . They are located in front of Chionis Island near Trinity Island .
They are named after the whaler Minerva of the Norwegian whaling entrepreneur Lars Christensen , who ran aground here on March 1, 1922, had a crash and had to be abandoned.
