Mingun ( Burmese မင်းကွန်း မြို့ ; BGN / PCGN : mingun-myo) is a village in central Burma north of Mandalay on Ayeyarwady . Three major sights make it a popular destination for tourists and the residents of Mandalay: the ruins of the unfinished Mingun Pagoda , the house with the second largest intact bell in the world (after the Pingdingshan bell in the Chinese city of Pingdingshan ) and the Hsinbyume Pagoda . Mingun can be reached from Mandalay by road or in a one to one and a half hour boat trip on the Ayeyarwady .
