The Ministry of Interior and Administration ( Polish: Ministerstwo Spraw Wewnętrznych i Administracji , abbreviated MSWiA ) is a supreme authority of the Republic of Poland , which was founded in 2015 and is responsible for three departments: public administration, internal affairs, national and ethnic minorities . The ministry also existed under this name from 1997 to 2011.

history

The Ministers of the Interior and Administration have historically directed the following areas of government administration:

  • 1999–2000: public administration, architecture, construction, internal affairs, religious affiliation
  • 2000–2005: public administration, internal affairs, religious affiliation
  • 2005: public administration, internal affairs, religious affiliation and national and ethnic minorities
  • since 2005: public administration, IT, internal affairs, religious affiliation and national and ethnic minorities

The ministry was abolished on November 21, 2011 with effect from November 18 of the same year. The areas of administration, computerization, as well as religious affiliation as well as national and ethnic minorities were assigned to the then Ministry of Administration and Digitization . On November 20, 2015, the ordinance was revoked. This became legally binding on November 24, 2015 (with retroactive effect until November 16, 2015) upon publication.
