The Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( Polish Ministerstwo Spraw Zagranicznych , abbreviated MSZ ) is a supreme authority of the Republic of Poland , which is responsible for the formation and management of foreign policy.
It was founded on October 26, 1918 by the Rada Regencyjna . Since 1945, the headquarters of the ministry has been in the former building of the Najwyższa Izba Kontroli (German Supreme Control Chamber ).

The main tasks of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs include:
- Representation and defense of the interests of Poland and its citizens on a diplomatic level.
- Maintaining good relationships with other countries and international organizations
- Cooperation with the Polonia .
- Management of the consulates

Headquarters
After the Warsaw Uprising , the Brühlsche Palais , which was the seat of the Foreign Ministry until 1939, was blown up by the Wehrmacht in 1944 . The ministry then moved to Aleja Jana Ch. Szucha 23. In the interwar period, the Najwyższa Izba Kontroli (German Supreme Control Chamber) was located there and during the Second World War the building was the seat of the German Ordnungspolizei (Orpo).
The Przeździecki Palace has also been used for representation purposes since 1953 .
