Prime Minister of the Year
Prime Minister of the Year is an award given between 2003 and 2012 by the New Social Market Economy Initiative and Wirtschaftswoche . The title is given to the Prime Minister of a German federal state whose state has achieved the "greatest economic dynamism" in the two or three years before. The basis for the award is a survey by IW Consult GmbH , carried out between 2003 and 2005 together with GWS GmbH .
The Saxon Prime Minister Georg Milbradt (2004, 2005) and his Saarland counterpart Peter Müller (2003, 2006) were each awarded the title twice and are thus the record winners , along with the Brandenburg Prime Minister Matthias Platzeck (2010, 2011, 2012).
