Wilhelmine Auguste Marie Ziel , called Minna Ziel (born June 8, 1827 in Rostock ; † December 4, 1871 there ) was a German portrait and genre painter.

Life

Minna Ziel was a daughter of the accountant Christoph Ernst Johann Ziel (1788-1854) and his wife Franzisca Henriette, nee. Koeve (1803-1873). She was a student of Karl Ferdinand Sohn in Düsseldorf . She exhibited works created here in the "Permanent Art Exhibition" of the Eduard Schulte art dealer . She then worked in her hometown. One of her students was Elisabeth Strempel . The Rostock Cultural History Museum and the Warnemünde Local History Museum have some of their works, which were executed in the style of the Düsseldorf School of Painting , in their holdings. Her painting “Die Warnemünderin” from 1851 is on loan in the permanent exhibition of the Warnemünde Local History Museum.
