Minnigerode House
The Minnigerode House in Alsfeld , a town in the Vogelsberg district in Hesse , was built from 1687. The building at Rittergasse 5 is a protected architectural monument .
description
The building owner of the house was the chief forester Johann Ludwig von Minnigerode , who demolished the buildings there and built the so-called forester's yard.
The building rises above a hook-shaped floor plan. The massive entrance side has square corners. The house with seven window axes impresses with its spectacular stone portal with a blown architrave and attached gable, which is crowned by depictions of virtue. Among other things, the motto of the family stands between the consoles : “premor sed non opprimor”.
Today the building serves as the Alsfeld regional museum .
