Mino Auletta

Mino Auletta (* 1942 ) is an Italian lawyer and was President of the International Sports Court (CAS) in Lausanne from April 3, 2008 until the end of 2010 .

Auletta graduated with a doctorate in law . He worked as a lawyer at the Milan Court and the Supreme Court of Italy, in Rome. From 1984 to 1994 he was an arbitrator at the International Court of Justice before he was elected 1st Vice-President there in 1994. In 2007 he temporarily took over the presidency of the CAS for the late President Kéba Mbaye . On April 3, 2008, he was elected President with 10 out of 19 votes. He prevailed against the former President of WADA , Richard Pound . He was succeeded on January 1, 2011 by the Australian John Coates .

Mino Auletta was a member of the IOC Sports and Legal Commission and the Legal Department of FISU . Auletta was also legal advisor to the 1987 Rome World Athletics Championships and was a member of the IAAF Legal Commission . He is considered an expert in the field of international trademark law .
