The Minot Point is a rocky headland in the west of Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 5 km west of the summit of Mount Parry and marks the southern boundary of the entrance from Dallmann Bay to Lanusse Bay .
Aerial photos by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. from 1956 to 1957 were used for mapping purposes in 1959. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the American internist George Richards Minot (1885–1950), who, together with William Parry Murphy and George Hoyt Whipple, had received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for research on pernicious anemia in 1934 .
