Minuscule 205 (numbered by Gregory-Aland , δ 500 by Soden ) is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament on parchment . It was dated to the 15th century by means of paleography .

The manuscript contains the text of the New Testament on 441 sheets of permanent paper (39.8 cm × 28 cm). The order of the books is: Gospels, Acts , Catholic Epistles, Pauline Epistles , Revelation. The pages were written in one column with 55–56 lines. The manuscript contains prolegomena and subscriptions. The text of Mark 16: 8-20 is marked with an asterisk .

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Caesarean text type in the Gospels as well as the Byzantine text type in the rest of the books. Aland placed the Gospels and Revelation in Category III . He ordered the rest of the manuscripts category V to. In the Gospels, the manuscript belongs to text family 1 .

history

The manuscript was written by Johannes Rhosus for Cardinal Bessarion († 1472). Rhosus worked as a librarian for the cardinal. In 1468 it was sent to the cardinal's library. CF Rink considers the manuscript in the Gospels to be a simple copy of Codex 209 .

It was studied by Andreas Birch and John William Burgon .

It is currently kept in the Biblioteca Marciana (size Z 6) in Venice .
