Minuscule 209 (in the numbering after Gregory-Aland , δ 457 and α 1581 by Soden ) is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament on parchment . With the exception of Revelation , it was dated to the 14th century by means of paleography . Revelation was added to the code in the 15th century.

The Codex contains the full text of the New Testament on 411 sheets of parchment (19.5 × 12 cm). It was described in one column with 27 lines per page.
The Euthalic Apparatus is contained in the Catholic Letters . The apocalypse contains prolegomena .

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Caesarean text type in the Gospels and the Byzantine text type in the rest of the New Testament books. Aland placed him in Category III for the Gospels and Revelation . The remaining books belong to Category V .
The text of the Gospels is close to minuscule 205 (or vice versa). However, they differ in the Acts of the Apostles and in the Epistles. The manuscript belongs to the text family f 1 .
history
The manuscript once belonged to Bessarion , who brought it with him to the Council of Ferrara-Florence in 1439 and who wrote many comments in it.
It has been studied by Birch , Engelbreth, Fleck, Rinck , and Burgon .
It is currently kept in the Biblioteca Marciana (Fondo ant. 10) in Venice .
