Minuscule 4 (numbered after Gregory-Aland ), ε 371 ( from Soden ) is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament on 212 sheets of parchment (18.5 × 14.3 cm). The manuscript was dated to the 13th century using paleography . Originally it was called Codex Regius 84 . The code is currently in the Bibliothèque nationale de France (Gr. 84) in Paris .

The codex contains almost the complete text of the four Gospels with four lacunae (Matt. 2: 9–20; Mar 15: 42–16: 14; John 1: 1–13.49–3: 11). It was written stichometrically in one column per page with 26-28 lines per page. It also contains a synaxarium , martyrology , stichoi and excerpts from some church fathers. The text John 7: 53–8: 11 is marked with an obelus .
Text of the code
The Greek text of the Codex is a mixture of different types of text. Aland didn't put him in any category . He's close to Code 273 .
History of the Code
The code was used by Erasmus in his edition of the Novum Testamentum . Robert Estienne used it in his Editio Regia (1550) and called it γ '. John Mill noted the reference to the Latin version and the Complutenser polyglot .
