Minuscule 73 (numbered after Gregory-Aland ), ε 260 ( from Soden ) is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament on 291 sheets of parchment (25.1 × 20.7 cm). The manuscript was dated to the 12th century using paleography . The handwriting is complete.

description

The manuscript contains the text of the four Gospels . It was written in one column with 23 lines each. It contains the Eusebian tables, lists of the κεφαλαια, κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, ammonian sections (Matthew 341, Markus?, Luke 349, John 229), the Eusebian canon , lessonary markings and pictures.

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Byzantine text type . Kurt Aland placed it in Category V a. It belonged to the text family K x .

history

The manuscript came in 1724 by Konstantin Opel to England and belonged to the Archbishop of Canterbury William Wake (1657-1737), together with the minuscules 74 and 506 - 520 . Wake donated the manuscript to Christ Church College, Oxford. The handwriting was examined by Richard Bentley . Caspar René Gregory collated them in 1883.

The Code is currently held at Christ Church College under the signature Wake 26 in Oxford .
