Minuscule 97 (numbered after Gregory-Aland ), α 260 ( from Soden ) is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament on 204 parchment sheets (18 × 13.5 cm). The manuscript was dated to the 12th century using paleography . The handwriting is incomplete.

description

The manuscript contains the text of the New Testament apart from the Gospels and the Revelation of John with a gap (Acts 16: 39-17: 18). It was written in one column with 27 lines each. The manuscript contains the Euthalian apparatus, signatures, στιχοι , Synaxarion , Menologion, αναγνωσεις (liturgical) and notes in the margin. It contains scholia on the edge of John Chrysostom and Œcumenius.

The order of the books is Acts , Catholic Epistles, and Pauline Epistles . The letter to the Hebrews is listed as Paul's last book.

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Byzantine text type . Kurt Aland placed it in Category V a.

history

The manuscript was deposited by a theodoret in the library of Megisti Lavra monastery on Mount Athos . She came to Germany from Athos. The manuscript was examined and collated by Langer (for Johann Jakob Griesbach ).

The codex is in the Herzog August Library (Codd. Gud. Graec. 104.2) in Wolfenbüttel .
