The Metro Station Mirabeau is an underground station of Line 10 of the Paris Métro . Only trains in the direction of Gare d'Austerlitz stop .
location
The station is located in the Auteuil district of the 16th arrondissement of Paris . It lies lengthways under the Rue Mirabeau to the southwest where it joins the Avenue de Versailles.
Surname
The rue Mirabeau gives it its name. The latter bears her name in honor of Honoré-Gabriel Riqueti , Count of Mirabeau, a member of the Third Estate in the Estates General of 1789 and chairman of the National Assembly in 1791 .
history
The station was put into operation on September 30, 1913 and was initially part of Line 8. On that day, this was extended westward from the Beaugrenelle station (since 1947: Charles Michels ). In the Auteuil district, it formed a large final loop that was driven counter-clockwise. The last - and indirectly the first - of the six stations located at it was Mirabeau.
On July 27, 1937, the end section west of the La Motte-Picquet - Grenelle station , including the end loop "Boucle d'Auteil" and the Mirabeau station, was assigned to line 10. Since the line was extended to the suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt , the section has largely lost its function as an end loop.
description
Since the station is just west of the crossing under the Seine , it is relatively low. Your only platform is south of the track in the direction of Gare d'Austerlitz , the track to Boulogne - Pont de Saint-Cloud maintains the gradient of 40 ‰. In order not to affect the foundations of the neighboring church, no platform was built to the west, instead the Église d'Auteuil station was built on a single track at a lower depth not far from it . This system makes the Mirabeau station unique within the Paris metro network.
The white-tiled station, which was built under an asymmetrical elliptical vault, is 91.4 meters long, which is unusual for the Paris Métro. It has three exits, two on rue Mirabeau and one on avenue de Versailles . The latter was designed by Hector Guimard in the Art Nouveau style.
vehicles
Until the mid-1970s, Sprague-Thomson trains were in use, which were replaced by the MA series from 1975 . In June 1994, it was replaced by the MF 67 series , which was still in service on line 10 in 2017.
Remarks
- ↑ Early in the morning and at rush hour, the "Boucle d'Auteil" is used by some trains as an intermediate loop.
