Miriam Pucitta

Miriam Pucitta (* 1964 in Bern , Switzerland ) is an Italian director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Miriam Pucitta was born in Switzerland to Italian guest workers. At the age of 9 she returned to Italy with her parents and attended the commercial school in Pistoia , which she graduated in 1983. From 1984 to 1988 she attended the painting class at the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno in Florence . She took part in several group exhibitions before becoming interested in the profession of film producer.

From 1989 to 1991 she attended the “Zelig” film school in Bozen , then left Italy again in 1991 and studied documentary film directing at the Munich University of Television and Film until 2000 . In addition to an acting seminar with John Costopoulos, she took part in writing seminars with Doris Dörrie . In 1993 she co-founded the “Film X” initiative, which presents young films to the public during a film week. After graduating from film school, she attended the European Film Institute's European Film Students' Graduate Placement Program and a scriptwriting seminar with Keith Cunningham.

In 1996 she made her theatrical directing debut in New York with Faustman , a soap opera by the theater ensemble ELA COMPANY from Munich. In the same year she founded “A piedi nudi - Barfuss Filmproduktion” in Munich together with the German director and cameraman Thomas Bresinsky.

Miriam Pucitta lives and works with her husband, the German director and film producer Michael Chauvistré , in Aachen in the joint production company Happy Endings Film . The couple have two children together.
