Mirko Sandić
Mirko Sandić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Мирко Сандић ; born May 9, 1942 in Belgrade , Serbia ; † December 24, 2006 ibid) was a Yugoslav water polo player .
He played 235 games with the Yugoslav national water polo team and scored more than 250 goals. With the VK Partizan Belgrade he was eleven times Yugoslav champion and won the European Cup five times. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 , he won the silver medal with the team. In 1968 he won the gold medal with the team at the Olympic Games in Mexico City . In 1966 and 1970 he won the bronze medal at the European Championships. After his playing days he became the national coach of Egypt, Malaysia and Singapore. In 1999 he was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame .
