VK Partizan Belgrade
The VK Partizan ( Serbian - Cyrillic Ватерполо клуб Партизан - Waterpolo klub Partizan , German water polo club Partizan ; often only Partizan Belgrade ) is the water polo department of the Serbian sports club Partizan Belgrade . With seven Champions League victories, Partizan is the most successful team in the history of European water polo. The club was founded in 1946 and has played in the first division since 1952. Partizan was one of the best clubs in the SFR Yugoslavia and is now one of the best in Europe . Many of the club's players were also successful in the national team . With the city rival Red Star , Partizan connects one of the most famous rivalries in sport, as well as one of the most famous water polo derbies worldwide. This encounter is known as the Eternal Derby .
