Mirko Uhlig (* 1981 in Aachen ) is a German musician of experimental electronic music . He also published under the name of eel fishing with horse head .

music

The first albums, which were still strongly influenced by Musique Concrète techniques and the surreal sound collages of the groups Nurse With Wound and Deer Not on the Sofa , appeared from 2004 to 2006 under the pseudonym Aalfang with a horse's head on various international small labels ( e.g. Field Muzick, single unit, taâlem and Mystery Sea). With the vinyl EP "Fragment 36" (on Drone Records), Uhlig initially ended the project in order to publish the now much more minimalist music under a less associative name. The first album under his own name ( VIVMMI ) was released on the Ex Ovo label, founded with Tobias Fischer (tokafi, Feu Follet) in spring 2006. Newer releases mix the collage-like sound music with the more minimalist drone experiments.

Musical inspiration includes La Monte Young , early Tangerine Dream , Brian Eno , Nurse With Wound as well as William Basinski , Christoph Heemann , Andrew Chalk and Hafler Trio .
