Miron Zownir

Miron Zownir (* 1953 in Karlsruhe ) is a German photographer , filmmaker and crime writer .

Life

Miron Zownir is the son of a Ukrainian and a German. In the 1970s Zownir came to Berlin, later to London and from 1980 to New York City . Here he was u. a. Doorman of the Danceteria club , had the first photo exhibitions and made the first short films. The outsiders of society became his preferred area of ​​interest. In 1995 he came back to Berlin. While traveling to Russia and Eastern Europe, he took further analogue photographs of junkies, homeless people and generally marginalized groups of people. From 2003 he worked on a documentary with actor Bruno S. and then the feature film Phantomanie . From this time he also worked as a crime novel writer.

In 2015, the second feature film, Back to Nothing , was released, with Birol Ünel in the lead role . In 2016 Zownir's works a. a. shown in the Hamburg Deichtorhallen .
