Misstress Barbara (real name Barbara Bonfiglio; born December 3, 1975 in Catania ) is an Italian DJ and music producer. She lives and works in Montreal . In the course of her career she played in various renowned clubs and festivals around the world. While their early releases were known for techno with hard beats, their 2006 album Come with Me featured a stronger influence of electro-funk and more melodic rhythms. When she was eight years old, she moved to Canada from Italy with her parents.

Career

Misstress Barbara began to hang up in 1996. Since then she has released numerous EP's on labels such as John Digweed's Bedrock Records , James Holden's Border Community , Carl Cox's Intec Records, MapleMusic Recordings and many more. In 1999 she founded her own label under the name Relentless which has been called Iturnem since 2003 . You can hear her singing for the first time on her debut album I'm No Human , which was released in 2009 . The album includes features by Bjorn Yttling, Peter Bjorn and John , Sam Roberts and the electronic band Brazilian Girls . As a music producer, she often worked for television stations or the advertising industry. She published an advertising clip together with Porsche . In January 2018, she announced work on a new album.
