Mr. Schnabel (real name André Schnabel ), also known as Howard Snable and Howie do , is a German hip-hop artist.

Life

Mr. Schnabel began rapping in English in the early 1980s, but switched to German in the early 1990s as one of the first rappers in Hamburg . Together with DJ York and TC he founded the formation Dialektik . Together they had numerous appearances at various jams in Germany. However, this formation was not very long-lived and so they disbanded in 1996.

According to Dialectic, Schnabel and Dennis Kraus (Backspin) produced a demo that fell into the hands of the producers CLAAS and Sleepwalker from the BoogieParkStudios. Both were convinced of Schnabel's talent and with their support a second demo was quickly created. This demo landed on the table of producer Andreas Herbig , who also recognized the rapper's talent and helped him to his first deal with Showdown Records / Warner Music . During this time, DJ Ben Kenobi joined Mr. Schnabel.

1997 to 2002 Mr. Schnabel was a member of the Mongo Clikke. This was an amalgamation of different artists from the Eimsbush environment; sometimes they, like Schnabel, had record deals with other labels at the same time. Singles and samplers were released under the Style Liga project. All artists appeared under a pseudonym, "to save the guilty". A joint tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland followed.

The first EP with the title Mic Check followed in 1998 and one year later, in 1999, Ep No. 2 with the title Ruff in die Micros. The video for Ruff in die Micros was put on rotation by the broadcasters MTV and VIVA . This was followed by a first tour with five star deluxe , as well as various appearances, etc. a. at the Splash and Flash Festival.

In May 2001 Mr. Schnabel released his first studio album “Is'n Schnabelding”, which entered the charts at number 54 .

In 2004 Showdown separated and Mr. Schnabel founded his own label Howie Like It together with DJ Meru , where he appears as a producer, rapper and ghostwriter under the new stage name Howie Do. This was followed by productions for Samy Deluxe , Hamburgs Finest , Vier Viertel and Die Headliners, as well as three mixtapes, which he released under Howie Like It.

In 2006 he teamed up with the producer Spintec . From now on, they jointly run the Howie Like It label, become part of the Eurostreetz Movement and take producers Danny The Cool and Many Beats into the team.

In 2008, Howie Like It / Finetunes released the first purely digital release with the Global Tactics Volume 1 sampler series, which was later continued in 2010 with Global Tactics 1.5 - The Landing. In addition to Howie Do, various international rap artists such as Lil 'Flip , 40 Cal and JR Writer (Diplomats) , Riot Squad, Lazee, Eurogang, Stella Mwangi and others are represented on the sampler series . Most of the productions were from Howie Like It producers.

At the end of 2010, the next publication about Howie Like It took place in collaboration with Eurogang, Eurostreetz and Selfmade Records , which built rapper Kollegah into the joint project. Again Spintec was produced by Howie Like It producer and Howie Do supplied rap parts.

At the end of 2011 the single "Weeping Candles" was released. It was the first release of a series planned as a trilogy from the planned comeback album. As in previous years, this was also released digitally via its own label Howie Like It.

At the beginning of 2012 the releases Neue Zeit and Ready 2 Takeover followed with 40Cal (Diplomats) , Charlie Clips, Lazee , Taj Mahal, Toolez, Gramz4Sale (Dipset West) and Eurostreetz. Both singles were produced by Howie Like It producer Spintec.

On January 13, 2017, the album Zombie was released , which is the first part of a planned mixtape series. It was released under his own label  Howie Like It .
