Mitchell Dodds (born July 3, 1989 in Brisbane , Queensland ) is an Australian rugby league player. He plays in the NRL for the Brisbane Broncos .

Career

Dodds initially played rugby for the Capalaba Warriors, a farm team of the Wynnum-Manly Seagulls , who are in turn a farm team of the Brisbane Broncos . In 2008 he played for the first time for the U-20 team of the Broncos in the National Youth Competition , in which the Broncos lost in the final against the Canberra Raiders . In 2009 he played again for the U-20 Broncos, but also continued to play for the Seagulls in the Queensland Cup .

In 2010 he made his NRL debut for the Broncos in Round 1 against the North Queensland Cowboys . For the remainder of the season, he played in all but one game in Round 4, but did not try in any of the 23 games. In 2011 he completed 13 games for the Broncos, in which he again did not put a single attempt. In parallel, he continued to play for the Seagulls in the Queensland Cup. In 2012 he played 10 games in which he also did not try. He continued to play for the Seagulls.

In 2013 he first played a few games for the Broncos before being removed from the squad in Round 4 and only played again in Round 12. A week later, in Round 13, he made his first NRL attempt against the Canberra Raiders . In round 21 he suffered a torn cruciate ligament and was therefore unable to play for 16 months.

In 2015 he played for the Broncos in the World Club Series game against the Wigan Warriors . His start in the NRL 2015 was quickly interrupted because he sustained a calf injury in round 1 and was therefore out for three weeks. He returned on Round 5 against the Gold Coast Titans and put two tries.
