Mito Loeffler

Mito Loeffler (born February 12, 1961 in Sierentz ; † November 5, 2011 in Zillisheim , Haut-Rhin ) was a French jazz guitarist in the tradition of Django Reinhardt .

life and career

Loeffler, who was classified as a member of the “third generation” of jazz manouche musicians, was the son of a violinist; he made his first appearances with his father. At the age of 14 he started working as a professional musician. Later he also performed with his two sons Fleco and Zaïti and with his brother Dorno. From 2009 to 2001 he played with Nicolas Chaboud and Alexandre Friederich, two members of the band Swing Belleville . Loeffler died of heart failure in November 2011 while being transported to the Mulhouse hospital .
