Central Lithuanian lowlands

The Central Lithuanian Lowlands ( lit.Vidurio Lietuvos žemuma , Central Lithuanian Plain ) is a lowlands in Lithuania , in the Baltic States in Europe . It was formed about 14,000 years ago. The maximum width of the Central Lithuanian Lowlands is about 100 km, the absolute height in the middle 80–90 m, in the north 50–60 m, in the west 35–40 m.

The lowlands are located in the Eastern European Plain , in the Central Lithuania region . The lowlands in Lithuania form an arc from Latvia (in the north) to Kaliningrad (in the southwest). It is in Kaunas District and Panevėžys District . In the northwest the lowlands reach the hills of Linkuva , the central lowlands of Venta , the plateau of Eastern Lower Lithuania , the Vilkyškiai hill and in the southeast three highlands ( Sudauen , Dzūkai and Aukštaičiai ).
