Middle - Frankfurt airport is a German documentary - TV series , the staff of the Frankfurt airport accompanied in their daily work. It has been broadcast on the regional television program of the Hessischer Rundfunk hr-fernsehen since January 2019 .
concept
The series of reports accompanies people who work at Frankfurt Airport . For example, follow-me drivers , apron and air traffic controllers , flight attendants and captains as well as the fire brigade and federal police are shown in their daily work.
The production is shot by video journalists who are responsible for the sound and the camera and act as reporters. Between the film sections, 3D animations of the airport are used to show the current location of the accompanied person. The background music used is mostly current radio and chart titles. The Hessischer Rundfunk has published a list of all music titles via the Spotify streaming service . This is updated with each new episode.

The first two seasons were broadcast on hr television for the first time. The six episodes from the third season were first published from October 25 to December 2, 2019 in the ARD media library, on hr-fernsehen.de and on YouTube . On February 21 and 28, 2020, the first two episodes of the fourth season were first published online again. The third episode was published for the first time on hr television.

In the middle extra - Frankfurt Airport , international traffic in the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on Frankfurt Airport were discussed in two special editions. While the first special edition was first broadcast on hr-Fernsehen on April 29, 2020 at 9:20 p.m., the second was broadcast on May 6, 2020 at 10 p.m. The shift from 9 p.m. to the specified time was necessary due to special broadcasts before that. The four episodes of the fifth season ran regularly from July 8, 2020 at 9 p.m. A sixth season has already been announced for October 28, 2020.
