The middle coat of arms of Prussia denotes the middle version of the Prussian coat of arms . Together, the large and medium royal arms with the royal title of King of Prussia were corrected for the last time on August 16, 1873 by amending the 'Most High Decree of January 11, 1864'.

Description of the escutcheon

The coat of arms is divided twice in length and four times across into twelve fields and a shield base .

The order follows the coat of arms of the Prussian decree:

1. Kingdom of Prussia

Instead of an object placed Central shield : In silver field a black, gold reinforced, rotgezungter Adler , who with the royal crown crowned and in the right claw the golden king's scepter , in the left a blue, gold tired and crossed orb holds. The wings are decorated with golden clover stems. On the eagle's chest is the name of King Frederick I, the entwined letters FR .

2. Mark Brandenburg

In the silver field a red, gold-armored, red-tongued eagle adorned with the electoral hat. In the right claw he holds a golden scepter, in the left a gold-hilted sword. The wings are decorated with golden clover stems. On the chest lies a blue heart shield , in which an upright golden scepter appears.

3. Duchy of Silesia

In the golden field a black, gold-armored, red-tongued eagle covered with a ducal crown. On its chest lies a silver crescent moon, between the upwardly sloping points of which a silver cross grows.

4. Grand Duchy of Lower Rhine

In the silver field the Prussian imperial eagle, on the breast of which rests a green heart shield covered with a crown and covered with a silver, wavelike oblique bar.

5. Grand Duchy of Poznan

In the silver field the Prussian imperial eagle, on whose chest a red heart shield covered with a crown and covered with a silver, gold-armored, red-tongued, gold-crowned eagle rests.

6. Duchy of Saxony

In a field striped ten times by gold and black, a green diamond wreath lying diagonally to the right.

7. Duchy of Westphalia

In the red field a jumping silver horse.

8. Duchy of Pomerania

In the silver field a red, gold-armored, red-tongued griffin.

9. Duchy of Lüneburg

In the golden field sprinkled with red hearts a blue, red-tongued lion.

10. Burgraviate of Nuremberg and coat of arms of the Hohenzollern / County of Zollern

Divided across:

a. At the top of the golden frame, surrounded by twelve pieces of silver and red, a black, erect, red-armored, red-tongued and red-crowned lion with a double tail ( Burggrafschaft Nürnberg ), this coat of arms is the original that of the Counts of Raabs .

b. Below is a square quartered by silver and black (coat of arms of the Hohenzollern and Counts of Zollern).

11. Duchies of Holstein, Schleswig and Lauenburg

a. In the red space a small shield, divided transversely by silver and red, which is accompanied by a silver nail turned inwards with the point at the two upper corners and at the lower edge, but at the upper edge and on both sides by a silver nettle leaf each (Holstein ).

b. In the silver field two blue, red-tongued lions (Schleswig), one above the other.

c. A silver horse's head (Lauenburg) is in the red field, surrounded by an edging made up of twelve pieces of silver and black.

12. Landgraviate of Hesse, the Principality of Nassau and the rule of Frankfurt a. M.

a. In the blue field a gold-armored, red-tongued and crowned lion (Hesse) with eight stripes of silver and red b. In the blue field, strewn with diamond-shaped golden shingles, a golden, red-tongued, crowned lion (Nassau).

c. In the red field a silver, gold-armored and red-tongued eagle (Frankfurt a. M.)
