Mityana is a town in the Central Region in Uganda . It is the capital of the Mityana district and is a parish within the district.

Mityana is approximately 77 kilometers to the west of Kampala , Uganda's capital and largest city. The city is located about halfway between Kampala and Mubende on the Kampala − Mubende Highway, which connects Uganda's capital with the city of Fort Portal in the Western Region .
