Mizpah House

The Mizpah House is a former parsonage on the Scottish Shetland island of Bressay . It is located near the west coast of the island on Bressay Sound . In 1977 Mizpah House was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in Category C.

Mizpah House is located on Bressay Sound just a few hundred meters south of Bressay Kirk Church . The building is clearly visible across the Bressay Sound from Lerwick on Mainland opposite . Mizpah House was built in 1819 and is similar to Maryfield House further north . The two-story building with a loft has a symmetrical T-shaped floor plan. The facades are traditionally plastered with Harl . The windows are set off with bezels . The entrance area is in the middle on the west side in a covered porch. On the opposite side there is a single window on the upper floor. On the right there is a small extension with a pent roof . On the north and south sides, windows are arranged on two vertical axes. Several elongated outbuildings are attached. The building ends with a gable roof .
