Mladen Baraković

Mladen Baraković (* 1950 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian (previously Yugoslavian) jazz musician ( double bass ).

Baraković graduated from the music school in his hometown. For many years he was a member of the Croatian Radio Big Band; he also belonged at times to the fusion band Time . He accompanied musicians such as B. Kai Winding , Ursula May, Michal Urbaniak , Giorgio Garagnani, Pepino Principe, Csaba Deseő , Ron Ringwood and others. As a studio musician, Baraković is involved in the recording of numerous albums. As a permanent member of the Boilers Quartet , he can be heard on their albums Some Blues, Abstract Light and St. Miles Infirmary . He also worked with Boško Petrović and with the Boilers All Stars , with whom he recorded the album That's It . He accompanied Gabi Novak with the trio of Matija Dedić . The guitarist Damir Dičić brought him to the Jazz Art Kvartet . He is a multiple recipient of the Croatian Music Union's award for the best double bass player.
