The Moawhango Firn Field is a small firn field in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Freyberg Mountains , it lies between Mount Camelot and Monte Cassino .
Participants of the 1967 to 1968 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named the firn field after a settlement in the Rangitikei District on the North Island of New Zealand . The name, which comes from the Māori , can be translated with hoarse moa .
