Mobi Patrick Oparaku (born December 1, 1976 in Owerri ) is a retired Nigerian soccer player who played on the position of defender . He participated in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta .

Club career

Oparaku began his career at Iwuyanyanwu Nationale in 1993 and earned a regular place on the fighting team in his first season. With his help, Iwuyanyanwu became a Nigerian master. In the African Champions League he reached the semi-finals with his team. 1995 was not a successful year for his club, even though he was the best of his team.

At the end of 1995 he received an offer from RSC Anderlecht . Since he could not prevail at Anderlecht, he moved to KV Turnhout in the second division in the middle of the season . He was able to score two goals, but that didn't help Turnhout to rise. He moved to Royal Capellen FC , but could not prevent relegation to the third division here.

In 2000 he went to the USA. He played with the El Paso Patriots and the Connecticut Wolves in the USL Second Division . In 2001 he went to Jamaica and joined Rivoli United in the second division. With his help, Rivoli rose to the Premier League. After setbacks from injuries, he decided to retire from his career.

When he returned to his homeland, he signed a contract with Gateway FC in 2005 . He then finally ended his career with Enyimba International FC .

International career

Oparaku began his international career with the Nigerian U-17 national team at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Japan in 1993 . Nigeria won the tournament with him. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta was instrumental in winning the tournament.

After the Olympic Games, he was appointed to the national team. At the 1998 World Cup in France , he came into the squad for the injured Jero Shakpoke . But he only had a short mission.
