The Mobile radiotelephone service via satellite (also portable radiotelephone service via satellite ; English aeronautical mobile-satellite service ) is as defined by the ITU Radio Regulations (Radio Regulations) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a mobile communications service via satellite , wherein the mobile earth stations at On board aircraft ; Rescue equipment radio stations and radio beacons for marking the emergency position may also participate in this radio service.
