Moccus
Moccus is the name of a Gallic deity in Celtic mythology .
mythology
Mocus is mentioned in a dedicatory inscription from Langres ( Haute-Marne department , Grand Est region ), the area of the Lingons . According to the Interpretatio Romana , he is equated with Mercurius . The name is probably related to Irish mucc or Welsh mochyn (both means "pig"). A connection with the hunt for boar is suspected, so that he is seen as the patron god of hunters.
