The climate is arid from June to August with only sporadic rainfall, and it is humid in the summer months, especially from December to March, with monthly rainfall of more than 100 mm. The annual precipitation is around 600 mm.

Transport network

Mocomoco is located 79 kilometers by road northwest of La Paz , the capital of the department of the same name.

From La Paz, the paved highway Ruta 2 leads via El Alto in a north-westerly direction for 70 kilometers to Huarina, from there on along the shores of Lake Titicaca via Mocomoco to Huatajata and Chua Cocani and on to Copacabana and Khasani .
