Mohamed Kamel Amr ( Arabic محمد کامل عمرو, DMG Muḥammad Kāmil ʿAmr , born December 1, 1942 in Cairo , Egypt ) is an Egyptian diplomat and politician .

Amr, Egypt's ambassador to Saudi Arabia from 1995 to 1997 , has been his country's foreign minister since July 18, 2011 , first in the government of Essam Sharaf , then in the government of Prime Minister Kamal al-Ganzuri on December 7, 2011 and from December 2, 2011. August 2012 until his resignation on June 30, 2013 in the Kandil cabinet of Prime Minister Hescham Kandil . His successor in office was Nabil Fahmi .
