Sharaf's cabinet

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sharaf cabinet was the Egyptian government from March 3, 2011 to November 22, 2011 .

Its chairman, Essam Sharaf, was installed by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces as part of the 2011 revolution in Egypt . She replaced the Schafiq cabinet and resigned in protest against the military's actions against demonstrators shortly before the planned start of the 2011/2012 parliamentary elections . The Second Cabinet el-Ganzuri was formed as the successor cabinet and the associated offices were taken over.

activities

Due to ongoing protests by the population because of the dissatisfaction with the slow progress of reforms, Prime Minister Essam Sharaf carried out a cabinet reshuffle on July 17, 2011, which was coordinated with the Military Council . 14 ministerial posts were filled. The swearing-in of the newly appointed took place on July 21st. The Ministry of Antiquities Management was no longer filled with a new minister at its top position, but rather downgraded to the level of an ordinary authority.

On November 21, 2011, the entire Sharaf cabinet submitted the resignation, which was accepted the next day. The reason for this was the action taken by the army against demonstrators in the period before that. Culture Minister Emad Badr El-Din Abu Ghazy had previously announced his resignation.
