Fayza Mohamed Aboul Naga

Fayza Mohamed Aboul Naga ( Arabic فايزة أبو النجا, DMG Fāyiza Abū n-Naǧā ; * November 12, 1951 ) is an Egyptian politician . She was Minister for Planning and International Cooperation. Al-Naga is said to have had good contacts with the former dictator Husni Mubarak . She was also said to have good relations with the then chairman of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces , Mohammed Hussein Tantawi .

Life

Fayza Abul Naga has been a Bachelor of Business Administration since 1973 and joined the foreign service in 1975. From 1975 to 1978 she was second class counselor in the Department of Disarmament and International Security Affairs in the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in Cairo . From 1979 to 1984 she was first-class embassy secretary at the representation of the Egyptian government at the UN headquarters in New York City . She then worked from 1984 to 1986 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cairo. From 1987 to 1990 she coordinated the representation of the Egyptian government as a plaintiff at the arbitration tribunal for the border line near Taba in Geneva . Fayza Abul Naga worked as an advisor to the Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Musa in 1991/92. She then worked until 1996 as an assistant to Boutros Boutros-Ghali , who was Secretary General at the UN headquarters. From 1997 to 1999 she headed the Africa Department at the Foreign Ministry in Cairo. In 1999 she worked at the United Nations in Geneva as permanent representative of the Egyptian government. Fayza Abul Naga has been the Egyptian Minister for Planning and International Cooperation since 2001. She joined the Nazif Cabinet as Minister for Development Cooperation on July 13, 2004 and also held this position in the Schafiq Cabinet .
