Ganzuri II cabinet
The Second Cabinet el-Ganzuri acted as the incumbent Egyptian government from December 7, 2011 to August 2, 2012. (Formally it resigned on June 26, 2012; in practice, however, it was not replaced until August 2 by the subsequent Kandil cabinet .)
The name is derived from the fact that the then Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzuri already held this office once in the Mubarak era and was now allowed to head a cabinet for the second time. El-Ganzuri was appointed by the military council after the previous Sharaf cabinet resigned in protest against the way the military council dealt with the demonstrating population during the 2011 revolution in Egypt . Despite the closed resignation of the Sharaf cabinet, nine former ministers of this cabinet were reappointed to their office, as well as three others who came from the Mubarak era and who were able to continue under Essam Sharaf (Tantawi as defense minister not included; he should be counted as fourth ). This cabinet then took over the business of government as planned and formed an interim government until the conclusion of the Egyptian parliamentary and presidential elections .
