Mohammad Ali

Mohammad Ali ( Urdu محمد علی) actually Shahenshah-e-Jazbaat (born July 20, 1931 in Rampur , British India , † March 19, 2006 in Lahore , Pakistan ) was a Pakistani film actor .

With over 100 appearances in Urdu films, Ali became the "Lion of Lollywood ". For almost three decades he convinced with his acting versatility, his baritone voice and his great personality. His first role was a villain; in his later years he played character roles in films that were shown daily to large audiences in various halls of Pakistan.

Life

Ali, son of a religious middle class family, immigrated to the Pakistani city of Multan to complete his education there. He moved to Hyderabad in the early 1950s . In 1956 he started working for Radio Pakistan , where his distinctive voice and perfect Urdu made him a local celebrity. Ali was also interested in classical Urdu poetry, especially Ghalib , a well-known nineteenth-century poet whose poems he presented at symposia.

In 1962, film producer Fazal Ahmed Karim Fazli hired him as the villain in Chirag Yalta Raha (The Flame Continued to Burn) at the side of Zeba , whom Ali married in 1968, and whose daughter Samina he adopted from a previous relationship. He played other villain roles in Bahadur (Brave) , Dal mein kala (Something Fishy) and Dil ne tujhe maan liya (My Heart has Accepted You) before starring in Shararat (Mischief) and Khamosh Raho ( Keep Quiet , 1964) .
