Mohammad Mirmohammadi ( Persian محمد میرمحمدی, * 1948 in Qom ; † March 2, 2020 in Tehran ) was an Iranian politician .

Life

Mirmohammadi held various offices in the course of his political career. He was a member of the Central Committee of the Islamic Republican Party , was Chief of Staff of Presidents Ali Khamenei and Ali Akbar Hāschemi Rafsanjāni and acted as General Secretary of the Islamic Civilization Party . From 2000 to 2008 he was a member of the Majles , the Iranian parliament. From August 2017 he was a member of the arbitration council .

The Iranian clergyman Ayatollah Shobeiri Zanjani was his maternal uncle.

Mirmohammadi died in early March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic in Iran as a result of a SARS-CoV-2 infection in a Tehran hospital. His mother had died of the same disease a few days earlier.
