Mohammed Raja Abdullah Al-Hussaini Al Sharif ( Arabic محمد بن رجاء الحسيني الشريف, DMG Muḥammad b. Raǧāʾ al-Ḥusainī aš-Šarīf ; bl. 1998 - 2013 ) is a Saudi diplomat .

Career

From August 17, 1998 to 2005, he was Ambassador to Ottawa . William Sampson (April 17, 1959 - March 28, 2012) was a British / Canadian citizen who worked in Riyadh as a consulting engineer . On December 17, 2000, he was arrested and suspected of being involved in a suicide bombing that killed 17 people and injured 122 people, including 36 children, on November 8, 2000 west of Riyadh with an explosives truck. He was detained for two years and seven months. Sampson appeared on Saudi Arabian television and claimed responsibility for the bombing. Sampson later stated that he was torturewas exposed. He was sentenced to death. He was released on August 8, 2003 and allowed to leave Saudi Arabia with several of his co-defendants. On September 25, 2003, in Ottawa, Al-Hussaini Al Sharif declared that the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would prohibit torture in all its forms and motives. He contradicted claims that William Sampson was tortured during his arrest in the Kingdom. He stressed that the kingdom had acceded to the UN Convention against Torture.

From February 3, 2009 to May 16, 2013 he was ambassador in Ankara and at the same time, with his seat in Ankara, he was also accredited as an ambassador in Baku ( Azerbaijan ).

From September 22, 2013 to November 2015, he was Ambassador of the Arab League in Washington, DC
