Mohanad Ali Kadhim al-Shammari ( Arabic مهند علي, DMG Muhannad ʿAlī ; * June 20, 2000 in Baghdad ) is an Iraqi soccer player .

Career

Ali started his career at al-Shorta SC . For Al-Shorta, he was already at the age of thirteen for the first team and was able to become Iraqi champions with the club in the 2013/14 season. In the 2014/15 season he was not used, in the 2015/16 season he came to 14 missions.

He spent the 2016/17 season on loan from league rivals al-Kahrabaa FC . For Al-Kahrabaa he made 31 appearances in the Iraqi league during the loan . After the loan ended, Ali returned to Al-Shorta for the 2017/18 season. In the 2017/18 season he made 32 league appearances in which he scored 17 goals. In the 2018/19 season, Ali and his team were Iraqi champions for a second time, with 19 goals in 30 appearances for the championship title.

For the 2019/20 season he moved to Qatar to al-Duhail SC . He made his debut in the Qatar Stars League in August 2019, when he started against Qatar SC on matchday one of that season and was replaced by Mohammed Muntari in the 57th minute . In October 2019, he scored his first goal in the Qatari top division in a 2-1 win against al-Sailiya . After nine missions for al-Duhail, he was awarded to Portimonense SC in January 2020 in Portugal . He made his debut in the Primeira Liga in February 2020 when he came on as a substitute for Bruno Tabata on matchday 22 against FC Porto in the 77th minute .

National team

Ali made his debut in a friendly against the United Arab Emirates for the Iraqi senior team in December 2017 . In February 2018, he scored his first two international goals in a friendly against Saudi Arabia . With Iraq he took part in the Asian Cup in 2019 . Ali failed with his team in the round of 16 at the eventual winner Qatar , during the tournament he was used in all four games and scored two goals.
