Moin Moin is an advertising paper from the Flensburg area , which has been published initially once a month since 1977 and now once a week , and which, in addition to the Flensburg Moin Moin, also issues issues for Südtondern , Schleswig and Angling . The publishing house that publishes the MoinMoin issues now also includes other similar sheets, such as the palette that appears for the Husum area .

history

The lithographer Dieter Kopp and the photographer Reinhard Thomas that in the former fish factory (Nordic fish cannery) in Flensburg Battery Street no. 33, in the district of North City , the company Reprox had decided in 1977, a free newspaper that specializes in Flensburg , publish, and founded the Kopp & Thomas Verlag, with whose help the newspaper should be distributed. As the name for the free newspaper , they chose the greeting Moin Moin, which is widespread in the region . The advertisements that finance the printing were already part of the newspaper. Until 1984, 68 issues of Moin Moin appeared monthly . In addition, since 1980 the MoinMoin EXTRA appeared , a special offer for weekend shopping, which appeared initially at the beginning of the month and later once a week. In 1983 the MoinMoin Nordfriesisches Wochenblatt (cf. Kreis Nordfriesland ) was also created, the forerunner of today's edition MoinMoin Südtondern (cf. Amt Südtondern ). Since 1984 there has apparently only been a weekly edition of MoinMoin , which was distributed in Flensburg.

Also in 1984 the Flensburger MoinMoin got regional competition, the WochenSchau , which belongs to the Flensburger Tageblatt . In the years 1986–1987, two more MoinMoin issues were added, the MoinMoin Kappeln (see Kappeln ) and the MoinMoin Schleswig (see Schleswig ). The MoinMoin Kappeln was later renamed MoinMoin fishing (see fishing (peninsula) ). The WochenSchau gradually followed suit and established five editions, namely for Flensburg (circulation 75,100 copies), fishing (circulation 15,600 copies), Schleswig (circulation 31,100 copies), Südtondern (circulation 17,100 copies) and one for North Frisia (circulation 42,200 copies). In 1986/1987 the publishing house moved to two historic villas at Nerongsallee 12 and 14 in the Westliche Höhe district .

In 1993, Kopp & Thomas Publishing GmbH took (sometimes colloquially: Moin Moin-Verlag) generated Husum Verlag and thus the advertiser Nordfriesland range , which was created in the year 1973rd In 1995 the publishing house took over a publishing house founded in 1975 with branches in Bad Bramstedt and Itzehoe and with it two issues of the advertising paper Anzeiger (or your Anzeiger ) for the Steinburg and Segeberg districts . In 1999, MoinMoin and the publishing company moved into a new publishing building at Am Friedenshügel 2 in the Friesischer Berg district . The Nord-Block, a network of Schleswig-Holstein advertising papers, which together distribute around 2.6 million newspaper copies each week, moved into the building. The north block is directed from there. Advertisements can also be booked centrally with the partner publishers of Kopp & Thomas Verlag via the north block. In 2013, Kopp & Thomas Verlag acquired the Prima Wochenende for Neumünster with the surrounding area and the Hallo Nachbar for Parchim with the surrounding area. The total circulation of all of the publisher's newspapers is now around 225,000 copies per week. The total circulation for Flensburg and its surroundings (including Glücksburg , Harrislee and Handewitt etc.) is 78,800 copies per week. The print run size for Schleswig and Kappeln (fishing) together is 36,500 copies. The total print run in Südtondern is 15,000 copies. The range is 41,000 copies. The most important part of the publishing house is likely to continue to be the well-known MoinMoin , especially the edition from Flensburg, which is why its name is crowning the publishing house in Flensburg. The newspaper is printed in the Rhenish format .

various

Probably the most consistent part of Moin Moin was the comic strip by the cartoonist Kim Schmidt . Local events were often processed in his comics until 2015. In the beginning, in particular, the neat drawing style was slightly similar to that of the Werner comics .
