Moisés Mayordomo

Moisés Mayordomo Marín (* 1966 in Premià de Mar ) is a Spanish Protestant theologian and professor for the New Testament .

Mayordomo grew up in Mannheim . He studied theology at the Universities of Giessen and Heidelberg , at King's College London , where he graduated with a Master of Theology, and at the University of Bern . From 1996 to 2000 he was assistant to Ulrich Luz at the University of Bern, where he received his doctorate in 1997. theol. received his doctorate. From 2000 to 2006 he was senior assistant at the University of Bern, and in 2004 he received his habilitation. From 2006 Mayordomo was a lecturer in the New Testament and from 2012 to 2014 associate professor for the New Testament and ancient religious history at the University of Bern. On August 1, 2014, he succeeded Ekkehard Stegemann as Professor of New Testament at the University of Basel . His focus is on literary gospel research, Pauline argumentation and violence and overcoming violence in early Christianity.

Mayordomo was appointed as the successor of Martin Wallraff as lecturer at the Frey-Grynaeisches Institut in 2017 , which was founded by the theology professor Johann Ludwig Frey in 1747 in honor of Johannes Grynaeus .

Mayordomo is a Mennonite and a member of the Evangelical Reformed Church.

Honors

In 2013 he received the “Credit Suisse Award for Best Teaching” for his commitment to teaching.
