Mojmír Bártek
Mojmír Bártek (born April 26, 1942 in Zlín ) is a Czech trombonist and composer .
Bártek studied trombone from 1963 to 1967 at the Brno Conservatory and later from 1976 to 1980 at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. Since 1967 he has been solo trombonist in Gustav Brom's big band . He founded the All Stars Band in Brno, took part in European tours with The Supremes and the Ray Conniff Orchestra and performed with Maynard Ferguson and Shirley Bassey . He also worked as a lecturer at the Janáček Music Academy and teacher at the jazz workshop in Frýdlant .
In addition to works for a jazz ensemble, Bártek's 200 compositions also include orchestral works such as Painting , Scout Dancing and Playing Dice . For children he composed the Playing Miniatures , Stück u. a. for flute, cello and trumpet. His jazz compositions have been performed at festivals in Molde, Warsaw, Nuremberg, Moscow, Eindhoven and 's-Hertogenbosch, and his classical works have been recorded on Czech radio and on the LPSP label.
