The Moldau girls are a German-Czech singing duo of popular hits , named after the river Vltava , which flows through the hometown of the two singers, Prague .

Career

Eva Müller born Divisova (born April 15 ) and Susanne Laubmann b. Divisova (born January 29 ) were born as daughters of the composer and conductor Bretislav Divis and attended a music school as children. After graduation, Eva received an engagement in Germany. There she met her future husband, the agent Werner Müller, and did not return to Czechoslovakia. She then received various engagements as a pop and pop singer.

Her sister Susanne studied at the music academy and after graduating in 1975 would have been engaged as an opera singer in Prague. Eva brought her to Germany, where she was supposed to appear in a popular TV show, this was the Moldau girls' first appearance.

They performed in the Musikantenstadl and at the Lustige Musikanten . Tours, partly with Karel Gott , took the duo to Canada and the USA.

In 1986, the duo applied for the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 1986 , but their song Mir sake, sake of you did not reach the final. With Long Live Life they tried it at the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 1987 and 1988 with Im Musikantenhimmel , but these titles could not reach the final either.

Today they are only seen occasionally at popular television events.
