Molitwa Russkich developed into the national anthem under Tsar Alexander I.
The song Molitwa Russkich ( Russian Молитва русских - German Prayer of the Russians ) is considered by some authors to be the official national anthem of the Russian Empire under Tsar Alexander I from 1816 to 1833 . The lyrics are by Wassili Schukowski , the melody is that of " God Save the Queen ".
