Grom Pobedy, Rasdawaisja!
Grom Pobedy, Rasdawaisja! ( Russian Гром побе́ды, раздава́йся ! - German victory thunder, sound! ) is a victory march by the Russian-Polish composer Józef Kozłowski from 1791, the text comes from the Russian poet Gawriil Derschawin . The piece was considered to be the unofficial anthem of Russia in the late 18th and early 19th centuries .
history
Kozłowski composed the march under the impression of the capture of the Turkish fortress Ismail on the Danube Delta by Alexander Wassiljewitsch Suworow , which led to the end of the Fifth Russo-Turkish War . The piece was considered to be the unofficial anthem of Russia, but was never an official Russian national anthem . It became particularly popular in 1812 during the Russian campaign ; in 1931 VA Zukovskij wrote an alternative text in which the reconquest of Warsaw by the Russian army is praised.
The way is a polonaise .
